Huang Xiao-ai, A New York Memo
Now available in Chinese
An idealistic yet realist novel about the lives of modern urban migrants and the dislocation of a generation.
Some memories should not be forgotten, and so they are recorded here.
New York, vast and all-embracing, is a city where anyone might find a place to belong. Xiao Jiu, the narrator, and those around him drift restlessly through its streets, while Huang Xiao-ai, alone in a different orbit, appears and disappears as though guided by fate. And if it is fate, then sooner or later, their paths must cross.
