Another modern fable, and a companion to Lieutenant Milk and Private Cat.

​

The Little Fairy and her family descend to the human world, sent to observe life on earth in preparation for the day when the immortals might return. Her father becomes an expert in dealing with human waste; her mother opens a book café where gods and mortals mingle; her sister grows up alongside her; and a moon rabbit and a cat named Bonbon join them on their adventures.

Together, they rediscover a nearly forgotten legend. Long ago, unable to endure the corruption of the human world, the immortals departed in a great exodus. Now they are contemplating a return, drawn once more to a world that is abundant, dazzling, and irresistible. Yet even at the height of human achievement, the immortals remain uneasy. Humanity creates and destroys in equal measure, threatening the delicate balance between the worlds of mortals and gods. Even limitless power, it seems, has its limits.

Can humanity change the course of its fate? Will humans and gods find a way to stand together—or will they part once more? And can the legendary flood said to sweeps away civilizations finally be averted?
